Polishing (Production Level)

Acrylic Polishing:

OD surfaces ONLY (we do not offer ID polishing )  This lends itself well to opaque colors.  Transparent colors will require some additional polishing work on your end to get the ID surfaces.

Production polishing quality:  Pretty good for bulk polishing,  It will need a quick clean up buff once you get it in hand, but that's going to happen anyway.  Gotta do a final buff before you bag it right?   This method is not meant to be the "be all - end all" in polishing.  You want competition winning polishing, then plan on doing some touchup when you get the parts in hand, but it will most certainly save you some time!

Polishing is ONLY available for the outside surface of the part.  We will NOT polish the ID of any parts.  It is a semi automated process and ID polishing is not possible with this equipment, and due to having had carpal tunnel and the resulting surgery on both hands - the repetitive hand work is just not an option.

It is strongly suggested that if you are to have us polish the OD of your parts, that you have us do the machining to help increase the quality of the polishing process.

Minimum Batch Quantity:  50 like parts (can mix barrels and goose kegs - but can not mix duck kegs with barrels or goose kegs - parts that can fit inside one another can not be mixed)

Pricing is usually $4.00-$5.00 per part for the minimum quantity,  with a CNC quality machine finish as the starting point.  - Barrel or Keg - irrelevant of color or transparency of the cast acrylic.  Again, this is only polishing the OD surface.

Pricing discount is applied if we complete the machining process along with polishing.

Batch sizes smaller than 50 parts may be charged out at double rate or more depending on the batch size and part characteristics.

This is production quality polishing - it is not "everything is flawless and ready for a call making competition" type polishing.  It is expected that it will get a final buff shine prior to final packaging.  Its a process that yields quite decent results.  If you would like a reference for the polishing results, email us.  RMC's Pre-built line up are polished by us, with a final buff completed by RMC prior to packaging.  If you want show quality polishing - this is not what you want or you need to plan on "finishing up" the polishing to your needs.  Competition level polishing is not something we offer.

If we do not machine the parts to be polished, they must have a surface finish that is equal to being wet sanded down to 400 grit sand paper.  The better the sanding job the better the polishing will turn out.  Price quoting for parts that we did not machine ourselves will be on a case by case basis, and we MUST have an example part in hand to estimate.

Aluminum and Brass Polishing:

Basically the same as the acrylic polishing above, with a few changes in minimum quantities and pricing per part.

Minimum Batch Quantity:  100 bands of same matieral  (can mix different band sizes and shapes as long as they CAN NOT fit inside one another - can not mix aluminum and brass bands in the same batch)

Pricing is usually $1.50-$3.00 per part for the minimum quantity,  with a CNC quality machine finish as the starting point (equivalent of sanded with 400 grit sand paper.

Pricing discount is applied if we complete the machining process along with polishing.
